We had a good Christmas. We stayed at home this year. Karson was so excited about Santa coming! We got up Christmas morning to open presents from Santa. Kamryn had not been feeling well the days (2) before Christmas (flu) and she woke up Christmas day feeling terrible. The poor thing. She cried all day and wouldn't let me put her down, not even to her daddy. I think that I finally got a shower at about 4:30 in the afternoon. Karson had a terrfic day. He had all kinds of one-on-one time with his daddy! We did get a chance to play a few family games in the late afternoon. Karson got to decorate a birthday cake for Jesus in the afternoon. He had a great time doing all of the frosting. I will try to post some of the pictures that he took with his new digital camera...I can't quite figure out where those pictures have went yet. It was a wonderful day spent as a family (besides Kamryn feeling ill)!

Karson with his new digital camera. He loves it! He takes pictures and videos all the time and then we have to watch them on the t.v. at the end of the day.

Karson with his gift that he made mom and dad. He made it at preschool and was so proud of it! I love receiving those kinds of gifts for I know that it won't be long and those types of projects will no longer come home.

Mommy signing Kamryn's cast. She is doing extremely well with the cast. The only thing she gets frustrated with is the sippy cups that have two handles. She can't get ahold of the left handle and it make her mad. It is funny that it is the little things that make her mad and not the fact that she has to carry that heavy thing around everywhere!

Boy has it been awhile since I last updated. I feel as if life is just passing me by at ultra-fast speed (if that makes any sense). I love the holidays, but I just feel way too much pressure this time of year and I know that I shouldn't feel that way. (But like most moms I do).
Anyways here is the update: We spent our Thanksgiving weekend with my dad and grandma. My grandma had never been up here. It was such a joy to spend time with two of them. Last weekend was spent at the Holiday Open House and with Karson coming down with the stomach flu for two days...what a joy that was. Monday of this week was spent at home watching movies as Karson was recovering and Tuesday was a snow day!!! The kids and I headed outside later in the afternoon once the sun came out. I made large hill for Karson to slide down and Kamryn just enjoyed being pulled around in her sled. It was nice to get outside after being cooped up for a few days. What a little fresh air and sunshine will do for the soul!

The kids and I visiting with Santa while at the ECFE Holiday Open House. Yes, poor Kamryn wouldn't leave my hip for a second, which I don't blame her one bit! Karson was actually excited to see Santa this year. He told him that he wanted a Hot Wheel Set which I was unaware that he wanted that. It was a delightful time and both Kamryn and Karson enjoyed themselves.

The kids decorating their Christmas cookies at the ECFE Holiday Open House.

Karson helping decorate the tree. He couldn't wait to decorate the tree this year. It was amazing to see him say "oh mom, remember this one?" I also remember doing that year after year. His new passion in life is the christmas lights. For those of you that live in Owatonna you may know what I am talking about when I tell this story. Karson is constantly wanting to drive down Cardinal Drive (to see the cardinals) and Barry Street. Again, tonite as we came home from Walgreens he said "mom, I really want to drive down Cardinal Drive." Then I have the peanut gallery in the back saying "Cardinal Drive, Cardinal Drive." So once again we take the drive down Cardinal...good thing it is close to our house!
Karson is changing everyday. The school work that he brings home actually looks like what it is suppose to look like and not just some scribbles (although scribbles are great too). His name writing has come so far in the past few months. Karson's mind never stops. In fact, the other night before bed he says to me "mom, does God ever sleep?" And I responded "no, honey He is busy taking care of us." And Karson says in return. "Boy he must be tired!" I just love the minds of children. How at times I wish that I could live the same simple way.

Kamryn decorating the tree. She is really into the tree this year. There are definately certain ornaments that are her favorite...you find them all over the living room and kitchen. Good thing we made our tree "kid friendly."

Happy Birthday Kammy! We love you so much. We can't get over that you are two years old. Boy, where has the time gone? It just seems like yesterday that we were bringing you home from the hospital. You are such a little person now with such a big personality. It is amazing all of the things that you have learned this past year...from merely walking to singing your ABC's! We look forward to the coming year to watch you grow and learn even more.
We love you Princess!

Kam enjoying her cake. She really liked the ice cream...just like her mommy.

Kamryn feeding her new baby kitten that she got from Grammi and Papa. Below are pictures of Kamryn over the past couple of years. It amazes me how fast my babies have grown up.

What a beautiful baby girl you were! All that dark hair that is now blonde.

My last picture just days before you were born.

NO MORE CURLS!!! Yesterday Karson decided that he wanted his hair cut. So I asked him what kind of haircut he wanted and he said that he wanted to look like dad (well for those of you that don't know Kerry he shaves his head so he doesn't have much hair). I asked him "Are you sure you want to do that?" Karson responsed "I want to look just like my dad." (Isn't that cute?) So with a little convincing I told Kerry to not cut it that short. We decided that a number 4 razor would do the job. Kerry was the lucky one to cut the curls (I am glad that I didn't have to do it).
Karson looks so different...a lot older. My baby is growing up way too fast!

Witches, Ghosts, Goblens and Gouls...we had a Happy Halloween how about you???
It was a very busy day today. Since we did not get our pumpkins until yesterday we didn't get the chance to crave them until today. We woke up, ate breakfast and then it was off to crave the pumpkins. My children are not the sensory type kids so they didn't enjoy it very much and Kerry always thinks he is going to get sick from the smell so that leaves mom to crave the pumpkins. Karson wanted a spider this year and Kamryn got a scarecrow. I like to do the unique pumpkins however they take forever. Our afternoon was spent playing outside. Karson could not wait to go trick-or-treating. We went down our street and then over to Grandma and Grandpa Lindsay's house. It was fun to see Karson enjoy dressing up and having fun. Kamryn (as a bumblebee could have cared less). And then there is Auggie. We tried to dress her as a pumpkin but she was worse then a child!!!
It was a fun and exciting day and the weather couldn't have been better!
Happy Halloween to everyone.

Auggie as a pumpkin!

Kamryn dressed as a bee with her Scarecrow pumpkin!

Karson as Spider-Man with his spider pumpkin!

Yesterday we went to a local pumpkin patch. Both Kamryn and Karson had a terrific time running around and playing on the silo slide. It was a beautiful day to be outside...there aren't many of these days left (a.k.a the snow on Sunday).

Karson and Kamryn in front of the silo slide. Look how we have grown.

Today is a beautiful fall day. Not a cloud in the sky. I love these days however, I know that they are numbered. Can you tell that I am not looking forward to winter. I keep telling Kerry that we need to move south...no, not really I love it here.
Anyways, because it was such a beautiful day the kids and I decided to head to the park for a pinic lunch. We enjoyed the lunch but not the bees that bothered us! After eating we all spent some time running around on the playground. I truely enjoy these "outside days" with my children.

Kamryn loves the swings. Lately she tells me to give her Ungerdogs (that is how she says it). The highter the better. I love this picture. You can just tell by the look on her face that she loves it!

Karson enjoying riding on the lion.

We are definatly enjoying these wonderful cool, crisp fall days. On Wednesday Karson, Kamryn and I all decided to go down to the local lake with some friends and fed the fish. Both Kam and Karson had a great time. Kamryn couldn't stop hollering at the fish...it was quite funny. It was much more fun feeding the fish then the ducks. The last time we fed the ducks they were after us and it was scary.

Karson and his class by Princess Owatonna in Mineral Springs Park.

Karson's preschool class took a fall field trip to a local park here in Owatonna. We completed a fall scavenger hunt. The kids had a terrific time trying to find acorns, different colored leaves and other fall items. Kamryn also went along on the field trip. What can I say I think she is ready for preschool already. She thinks that she is one of the "big kids." It was a fun time.

Karson and I after the wedding. I just love this picture.

Here are some pictures from the wedding reception. Following is just a picture of Kerry and I dancing away the night! Below is a picture of Kerry and I at the end of the night. If you notice Kerry's eye brows yes they are filled in with sharpie marker. My brother's friend Carl (some of you may remember him from high school Carl Hoyt) decided to fill in Kerry's eyebrows and of course Kerry allowed it to happen. Sometimes I just don't know what I am going to do with that boy. We had a terrific time!

This past weekend was a very busy one for us. My brother got married on Saturday and Karson and I were in the wedding. He did a pretty good job. Thank goodness that Kerry was in the back of the church before the ceremony or he may not have come down the aisle. He was adorable with Avery. We spent the night dancing away...Kamryn loved the dance floor. I have a feeling she might be like her mom in that aspect. On Sunday we headed to St. Louis for a "mini family vacation." It was great just to get away for awhile. WE went with Kerry's brother Kane and his girlfriend Jenna. We took in two Cardinal games, went up in the arch, took a tour of the ball field and did some shopping. It was a great way to spend my birthday! Thanks Kane and Jenna for joining us. I have posted some pictures of the wedding and of the trip. Enjoy.

What can I say...summer is over and I can't believe how fast it went! We had a very busy end to this summer. The kids and I went to my parents for the long weekend. We started out on Saturday morning due to the fact that Karson had the flu on Friday...yuk! We all help celebrate my nieces third birthday with a cookout. It was a very enjoyable day. That night the girls all went out for Andi's (my soon to be sister-in-law) baccerette party. It was a wiggin out party so everyone was to come in wigs and everybody followed thru with the idea. We went out to Lancers and then to the district for a band. It was a good time.
On Sunday my mom and I took the kids to Niabi Zoo. I had not been to that zoo since I was in grade school. It was a hot day but both kids really enjoyed it. On Monday we just hung out for most of the day and then we headed home.
Karson also started preschool this week. He went on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. He seemed to really enjoy it. I think that this year will be a big growth year as far as the academics go. Next week we start MOPS and ECFE classes for Kamryn. I had debated about putting her in dance (I can hardly wait!!) but I think I might put it off one more year. She is still a little young yet. It will be a busy fall but I am ready to start things up again. Below are some pics from this past weekend. Enjoy.

Karson had his open house for preschool last night. He was able to fill his pencil box, find where to hang his jacket and meet new friends! He was very shy when we got there so I am hoping that he will warm up quickly next Tuesday. I know that he will do just fine. He has a couple of his good buddies in class with him, which could turn out to be a good or bad thing for the teacher. I am sure that they will all do just fine. WE are all ready for a schedule around here. At least I am kind of looking forward to it.

Kamryn got her cast on Monday and she is doing very well with it. She sat extremely well for Dr. Jason while he put on her cast (I was kind of surprised). It doesn't seem to bother her too much, in fact she is doing better with the cast then she was with the splint. Kamryn will have the cast on until the end of September. Boy, am I glad summer is basically over! No more 90 degree days.

Karson doing is work for preschool...what a good student.

Well, we had our first broken bone in the Lindsay household. Kamryn fell on Monday afternoon while playing outside. She didn't fall hard but it was a weird fall. Since Monday she has been babying her arm. So on Wednesday while playing in a basket of clothes she fell out and started screaming. I then knew that something was up. I took her into urgent care and yes her arm was fractured. She has it in a splint until Monday and then she will get her cast! Kamryn is doing very well with it, however if she does land on it incorrectly she will cry so the cast will be a good thing. They are telling me that she will most likely have the cast for up to 6 weeks, so she will have a cast on her arm for Uncle Josh's wedding (it will be cute).
I do have to say I am glad that it happened at the end of summer and not the beginning. Needless to say we have put the pool away until next summer. I hope everyone else is enjoying the end of the summer days. They will be gone before we know it.

Auggie just being Auggie.

Saturday, August 02, 2008

A Lindsay family update...It has been so long since I last updated everyone on our blog. Life has been extremely busy this summer. Between traveling, our dog having issues (which I will explain), ball camp, play-dates and just plain fun summer time I just haven't had the time to find the computer!
Karson is truely enjoying summer life. He is in a multi-sport camp on Tuesday nights. The kids get the chance to play a variety of different sports. I have to tell you it is pure comedy watching 4 and 5 year olds play kick ball! When we play baseball as a family at the diamond we taught Karson to slide into home plate well when he ran home while playing kick ball he slid into home. It was really funny. He also just finished a day time ball camp. It went Monday-Friday from 9-12. He had a terrific time. The boy loves every kind of sport. I believe he is going to be quite the athelete.
Kamryn is just Kamryn. She is growing up so fast and talking all of the time. She is now putting three word sentences together, which just amazes me all the words she knows. Kamryn loves the pool. She could play in it all day.
And then we have Auggie our Boxer. She became sick a couple of months ago so we took her into the vet and they told us that she had allergies. All of her hair started to fall out and she was getting these sores all over her so once again we go into the vet and they confirmed that she had mange. Which if you don't know what mange is it is a mite that gets under their skin and eats the skin (very disgusting). The vet figured out that Auggie has a very low immune system so her body couldn't fight of the mange (which most puppies can fight it off) and that is why she got so bad. Auggie ended up staying at the vets office for six days. She is doing much better now. Much more playful...the Auggie we knew.
So that has been our summer so far. We just had pre-school parent night. I can't get over that we only have 4 weeks of summer left. It goes by faster and faster every year!

This is Kamryn during the ball camp throwing sand into her stroller...so typical of a 20 month old. She is such a funny little girl. She also enjoys being at the diamond while brother plays his sports.

Karson waiting his turn on the bench. It amazes me how fast he has grown up this summer.

Karson kicking the ball during ball camp. He has really enjoyed this camp!

Welcome home Auggie! This is Auggie after we brought her home a couple of weeks ago. She had to stay at the vets office for six days. Auggie is now doing a lot better. I felt so bad for her after she came home. She wouldn't move to do anything. We are so glad that she is doing better.

Here is a picture of Auggie without her shirt! They are telling me that her hair will grow back...poor thing.

Karson helping papa hook up his new trailor.

We visited my parents this past weekend. The kids and I left on Friday and Kamryn and I headed back home on Sunday. Karson is staying with Grammy and Papa for the week. They have the entire week planned. It will be fun for all of them to have that special time, however it is extremely weird not having Karson around. WE miss him. Kamryn keeps asking where Karson is at.
Here are some pictures of the weekend. Papa made Karson a trailor for his Hummer. It is awesome and Karson loves it! Thanks Papa for all of the hard work that you put into my special trailor (Karson).

The kids and I hit the strawberry patch this past week. We had terrific time. Karson lasted about 3 minutes before he was off and running with his friend Joesph. Kamryn also had a great time...however everytime I looked over she was eating a strawberry and believe me she had the evidence all over her!!

Karson during his 3 minutes of picking strawberries.

Like I said she had the evidence all over her! I can't wait to do these scrapbook pages.

Kamryn showing mommy the strawberry that she picked.

Kamryn smelling the flowers. I always love these moments.
